Strategies Of Setting Up A Donor Recognition Wall

By Sarah Wilson

To appreciate the effort of those who contributed to the establishment of particular structures, it is good to have their names appear in the record of contributors. This is important because it also inspires other potential patrons to contribute to the same. The list should be positioned in a way that several users of the structure can access it easily. To achieve this, consider the following critical strategies of setting up a Donor recognition wall.

Ensure the place is strategically located. A strategic location is that which allows easy access from several points. This will capture the attention of those who are moving closer to it. This way, you will be assured that the number of people who come and view it is as large as possible. Also, watch out not to limit others by placing the display in restricted areas.

The most appropriate places to set up the display may include near main entrances or exits from the building or at a centralized position. These sites are known for harboring a larger population of people. This large population is the targeted audience who are expected to view the display. The display also should be easy to observe and read to avoid straining.

See the list of contributors. Ensure the display can accommodate all the members in the list. This is because you do not want to set up a show that is going to leave out the names of other contributors. This will consequently determine the size of the display; for example, a more extensive list automatically demands for a relatively large screen.

Check the chances of updating the list in the future. There is a probability of expanding the inventory in the future when the building is not complete yet there is a need to campaigning for additional funds. Therefore, the list should be flexible enough to accommodate future expansions and any relevant changes that might occur.

Find out the kind of elects that should be featured in the plaque. Different designs and styles demand that particular feature be omitted or included in the plaque. This means that the type of plan you choose to incorporate in your system will determine which information to post. Also, some information about the contributor may be omitted according to his will.

This vital information that should not miss on the plaque includes the name and title of the contributor, the year in which the contribution or the construction was done, the name of the organization or building together with its logo, and the amount contributed by each member. The donated amount is an optional element, and you are free to choose whether to include it in the list or not.

Check the tone of language used in the plaque. Choose a language and tone that will show gratefulness to the contributors' efforts. It is advisable that the words should be highlighting the achievements of the contributor and not your struggles. This is the right way of showing your appreciation to those who contributed significantly in your campaign.
